What Women Are Asking Us When They Inquire

The thought of a boudoir session can be both exciting and intimidating. When I talk to women about their upcoming sessions, I often receive a variety of questions reflecting their curiosity and concerns. To help ease any apprehensions and provide valuable insights, I’ve compiled a list of the 12 most frequently asked questions about preparing for a boudoir session with me. Whether you’re considering a session for yourself or as a gift for someone special, I’m here to guide you every step of the way!

Do You Share My Images?

Not at all! The images you see on our website or social media are from clients who have given us permission to share their photos. Our top priority is ensuring our clients feel comfortable, especially with boudoir photography. It can be a life-changing experience, but that also makes it a bit nerve-wracking! Sometimes, you’re learning to love your body and may not be ready to share those images with the world, or you might want these photos specifically for your spouse's eyes only. These are all valid reasons for choosing not to share your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences! If there are specific photos I’d like to share, I will always ask for your permission first and only share what you’re comfortable with.

Do I Have to Wear Lingerie?

Absolutely not! You don’t have to wear lingerie if it’s not your style—your outfit should reflect your personality! There are countless options beyond lace and frills. You can wear a loose sweater for a sweet, girl-next-door look, bring your sweetheart's button-down shirt, don a sports jersey, or choose a favorite crop top with denim shorts for a fun vibe. You can even opt for a sports bra and leggings for a fitness-inspired look. The possibilities are endless, and coming up with outfit ideas that are meaningful and fun to you is one of my favorite parts of the process!

Is Hair and Makeup Included?

Yes! Hair and makeup are included in all of our boudoir sessions because I believe it’s essential for you to feel pampered. Having your hair and makeup done is a wonderful way to enhance your experience. Our amazing team will help you complete your look, whether you want a natural “I just woke up like this” vibe or full-on glam. Feel free to bring any inspiration you have for your makeup, and we can use it as a guide to create the perfect look for you!

Do You Have Payment Plans?

Yes, we offer flexible pre-session payment plans to accommodate our clients! To secure your session, a creative fee is required at the time of booking, and the remaining balance is due 14 days before your session date. If you’d like more time to pay off your session, feel free to schedule it a few months in advance so you can make manageable payments along the way.

Do You Photoshop My Images?

Absolutely! I’m proficient in Photoshop and can edit your images as much or as little as you prefer—within reason. I do not alter your body so significantly that the final photos look nothing like you. I offer skin smoothing, acne, scar, or bruise removal, and some body slimming or contouring if desired. We’ll discuss your preferences during our planning consultation and again at your ordering appointment.

It’s important to consider that part of the process of accepting yourself and recognizing your beauty may involve not photoshopping out parts of yourself that you’re learning to love. If there are aspects you’re not thrilled about, that’s completely okay! Our expertise in posing and lighting will help you look your absolute best and highlight your natural shine.

Where Should I Buy My Outfits?

There are many fantastic places to shop for outfits, depending on the style of your shoot! We recommend several retailers, including Victoria’s Secret, Adore Me, Torrid, and Hips and Curves. Additionally, we have a client closet with pieces ranging in sizes from XS to 4X that you can borrow! This means you can show up to your session with just some nude thongs, and we’ll take care of your wardrobe!

What Type of Printed Products Do You Have?

We offer a variety of printed products, including albums, metal prints, and luxury keepsake boxes filled with prints! One of my personal favorites is the Luxe Album with the acrylic Ice Cover. There’s something truly surreal about picking up a physical print and seeing yourself in that way!

Do You Offer Digitals?

Absolutely! All of our collections include both print products and high-resolution digital files. The digital images are provided in a locked online gallery for you to download and share. Additionally, digital files are available on our A La Carte Menu, but I’ll always encourage you to get at least something printed. We all benefit from daily reminders of how truly beautiful we are!

I’m Freaking Out! How Can I Calm My Nerves?

Feeling nervous is completely normal! I often say it would be unusual if you weren’t a bit anxious. Those initial nerves make the moment you see your stunning photos for the first time all the more rewarding! If you enjoy meditating, that can be a great way to soothe your nerves. Positive affirmations are incredibly effective, especially if you look into your own eyes in the mirror while saying them. Breathwork and EFT tapping can also be helpful techniques. How Many Outfits Should I Bring?

The number of outfits you should bring depends on what we discuss during your styling and design consultation. Each session includes 5 outfit changes, but you’re welcome to bring more or less—or even nothing at all! With our amazing client wardrobe available for you to borrow from, we always recommend bringing anything you feel you might want to wear. Once you arrive, we can help you decide which outfits will work best for your session!
