For children
Young children can be unpredictable, so do what you can to ensure they’re in a good mood. Make sure they are fed and clean before the shoot. Trim their nails, put them in a fresh outfit, and bring a few extra changes just in case.
Bring wipes or washcloths to wipe face, nose, hands etc.
Bring their favorite toys or comfort items like a blanket or pacifier in case they become upset.
Arrange to arrive a bit early so that young children can get used to the photographer. This is especially important if your child is shy or fearful of other people.
Bring snacks that are not messy if possible and drinks in case they get hangry.
During the consultation we will discuss how to best get your child's attention. Some kids do better when the parents are right next to me and help getting their attention, while others focus better if the parents stay out of sight.
Bring any sentimental items such as first blankets, gifts from family members, quilts, or other meaningful items.
